I am hoping that someone will be able to give me some advice as to why my site is not listed in the Google directory.

I am showing up under a few minor searh terms in the search listings but for some reason my homepage and subpages are not being indexed.

I have spent alot of time reading similiar issues in other forums but am unable to figure out just what needs to be done.

Please help!

The Google Directory is just a (somewhat out of date) copy of the directory of dmoz.org

Go there and submit your site to the proper category if it qualifies. Once it is listed in dmoz, sometime later it will be listed in the Google Directory.

The Google directory and the Google web search are completely different things.

When you submit to the directory, you're really submitting to the Open Directory Project (DMOZ). Your site has to be reviewed by a volunteer editor, and it can be a long time before that happens. Then, if your site is accepted, and it appears in the DMOZ directory, it can be a long time before Google takes a copy of the DMOZ data and uses it to update their directory. Last year Google did this twice.

For getting into the Google web search, see the good folks over in the Google News forum, but please read the forum's FAQ first!
