Updating DMOZ entries

Is it worth it?

I did a cursory look through DMOZ to see where my site stood, and noticed that a dufunct URL/website of mine is still posted on two prime cateogories. What is the ethical thing to do here? Should I just leave these entries alone, and setup some sort of redirect to my most current site URL/design? Should I alert the editor to have it changed to the URL that replaced it? Am I running a risk of having an adverse effect of my current listings by doing any of these (like a potential blacklisting)?

Also, I was planning on updating the entry for my primary site. Would an editor be more likely to police the listings if I call attention to my site update? Are there any unforeseen disadvantages to alerting an editor?

Although my standings could be better, I don't necessarily want to lose what I already have.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Use the "Update URL" link on the category page; this indicates that the new URL is available if any editors are working in the category. If you set up a 301 redirect on the old urls, in theory it will be corrected when ODP's internal link rot spider, Robozilla, completes its next run.

Making a correction would hardly be grounds for negative actions against a listing. However, if the site is determined to be misplaced, it may be forwarded to a more appropriate category for additional review. Obsolete names or descriptions would also merit correction.
