Good LS description, bad MSN listing…

My main keyphrase is in my LookSmart’s title and description as well as in my domain name. Still, I am listed far below other sites with worse title and/or description. Why is that? What is MSN’s SERP? Is there any way in which I could improve my position?

Thank you for your answers,
Janis

Hi Janis - welcome to WebmasterWorld :)

Is your keyphrase in the 10 keywords you choose?

For select keywords it seems that MSN editors hand pick some of the top spots and no matter how good the LookSmart listing, it won't rank in MSN

Hi Rumbas,

I am not sure what keywords are you talking about. If you mean LS keywords then I must say that I got listed through Zeal and had not selected any keywords.

Thank you,
Janis

Hi Skibum,

Thank you for your reply - I did not know that! If that's true then I hope that MSN will finish their own engine as soon as possible and drop current system.

Oh, you got in though Zeal?

That would explain the lack of keywords. If you go the paid route through Looksmart, you're able to pick 10 keywords to be "attatched" to your listing. However you're going to pay 0.15$ per click using this method.
