Database problems?

I informed a DMOZ Editor about a listed site which was re-directing in December 2002.

The Editor promptly removed the offending site.

Now (September 2003) the site re-appears in the DMOZ category with the page update date set at November 2002.

Is this a restore of old data?

Is this another DMOZ Editor restoring his site manaually?

Either it is a glitch that reverted the edit, or it was relisted by someone or you simply see an old version of the page - don't know without details.

If you hand me the URL and the category I can look into it and pass it on when apropriate.

Thanks :)

Already reported to two editors one of them is a meta-editor? Whatever that is?

Okay then, no need to put more editor energy in than necessary.

A short explanation of ODP editor types, copied from one of the numerous documents explaining them (Slightly modified):

Cateditall - Editall-like privileges restricted to a given node.
(K)Editall/(K)Catmv - Editors can edit almost anywhere and move categories and have a small amount of other nice tools at hand.
Catmod - Meta-like privileges restricted to a given node.
(K)Meta - Editall/catmv privileges plus the ability to approve editor applications and remove editors.
Staff/root - Paid employees. They have the highest level of privileges.

"K" is for the Kids&Teens section which is basically a directory in the directory :-)

Why is DMOZ listing IP addresses for sites?

Every site I've ever had has moved IP at least once in it's life span.

Most other directories will not ever list IPs but instead coin the phrase "Go and pay $15 for a domain".

And thanks for your explaination windharp :)

Can anyone from DMOZ check out how current their categories are?

You got database probs. :(

Please also see Key_Master's thread about sites being reverted back etc....
