Thanks to SeoToday and Kalena Jordan for this interview.

With Yahoo! purchasing Inktomi, how will this affect LookSmart's search results?

LookSmart, Inktomi and Yahoo! are discussing our relationship going forward. For now, it's business as usual

There have been some complaints in the various search engine forums about the inability to clearly track traffic from LookSmart pay per click campaigns or even clearly track keywords which will trigger an appearance of their listing.

This spring, LookSmart will be expanding this functionality to Small Business Listing customers who use our web-based platform.

The article is dated Aug 11, 2003 - maybe he meant this fall?

Looks like the VP missed the memo about AV switching to ODP.

Now this is _exactly_ the type of thing that "stechert" could help us out with here ;) (stechert being a member from LookSmart that posts here on occassion...)

Perhaps they, like so many others, will be announcing new & exciting things next week at SES?

Hi. I heard that I was being summoned.

"This spring", in the context of this article was Spring 2003.

I couldn't track down Dakota (he travels frequently), so I don't know exactly when he gave this interview, but there are some tell-tale hints that this is stale news. E.g., the first question is "With Yahoo! purchasing Inktomi,..." when the germane-to-today question is "With Yahoo! purchasing Overture,...".

AV's switch to ODP is likely to have happened AFTER this interview.

Hope this helps,
Andre
