A lot of errors on thge page, but i guess when you have around 80 w3c validator errors i shouldn't be suprised.
IN IE yes it's wisenut for websearches.

I'm using the same version as you, all seems to work fine. Which trunk have you got or is it the milestone?
Maybe something wrong with your profile setup, you could try re-setting up your browser.

Seems to default to the directory search, not the web search, and the fact that you are only searching the directory is not very evident in the labelling. Search the directory and the results are passable but very commercial and only marginally relevant. The web search however seems very good indeed. However i foresee very few arriving on the front page would click the web results tab before doing a search. So whatever they are using for that, it makes little difference for traffic.
