I received an email to confirm my email for Open Directory Application [apply@dmoz.org] almost 2 weeks ago. I replied but the mail was returned. I then sent again and again and they were all returned stating:

The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- "¦/gh/bin/ghapply"
(reason: 255)
(expanded from: <apply@dmoz.org>)

What's happening with dmoz?

I just read a posting explaining that this problem has been solved, maybe a simpel resend of the message now could do the trick.

I too found this; it has been fixed now though. Just re-reply and all will be fine.

You can apply, but no-one can review those applications at the moment, nor even check to see what is in the queue. There is some additional work to complete elsewhere before that functionality can be restored.

Things are looking up:

Subject: Open Directory editor application received

Thanks for applying to become an editor!

You will receive a reply as soon as your application
has been reviewed.

I did reply to this one recently, I know it. Silly software or silly me...

Meanwhile applications arrive and can be reviewed. Expect some delay because a lot of applications have piled up and editor time is limited.

Ah, now I know where my posting went. Was removed (without notice to me) for mentioning where I got this information. Contained no link, not even a URL. Very friendly behaviour in here.

Sorry for trying to help people in this forum. Won't happen again. :-(
