You may be able to browse editors.dmoz.org , which is more up to date (eventually this will be an editor-only machine). The mirrors at de.dmoz.org and ch.dmoz.org may also be more up to date.
We do not have a definitive date as to when the public servers will be synchronized to the new mirroring system, but it is likely that instead of being updated instantaneously as in the past, they will be updated at intervals.
the public face of the ODP
So if you search at www.dmoz.org you'll see the site listed. On a good day, this lags an hour or so behind the updates.
The last few weeks, during the server upgrades, have not been good days.
the RDF
The files that downstream users of ODP data (such as Google Directory use to build their databases of ODP data). This is way more important than the public face,
The RDF is more up-to-date than the public face right now.
You can be alerted when the RDF updates by signing up at: [theblob.org...]
You can get a large list of downstream users at:
[dmoz.org...]
Directories/Open_Directory_Project/Sites_Using_ODP_Data/
It's worth checking occassionally that all the downsteam users have the latest RDF, and prompting them to update if they do not.
