DMOZ Search

Does DMOZ use Google to index their own search?

We've been listed in ODP for a few months now, but you still can't look us up by name in the ODP search. Is this related to being in the Google directory?
Anyone have any info on this?

Nope, the ODP uses it's own search algorithm. Totally unrelated to searches at Google (either web or directory).

ODP hasn't updated search in quite awhile now, due to the current upgrade that is taking place. I believe it was not done because it had to be done manually and isn't something that is widely used. The important thing is that your site is listed. Because it is a directory and not a search engine...no one really uses search for the most part except for individuals looking for their own site or editors.

The date of last update is at the bottom of every search page. The update relies on the RDF dump, which has been missed a few times in the last 6 weeks or so. Before that there were 3 or 4 RDF dumps per month since February (before that there were no RDF dumps since 2002 September due to various major problems).
