Is it possible?

My site was listed in dmoz last year when I started it. I submitted and was accepted within a week. The site didn't recieve any attention for the best part of a year and I noticed that it was no longer listed. I have a few questions I wonder if you might be able to answer.

Did the site drop out of the listing because of its inactivity (ie no updates)?

I have resubmitted (the site is now literally ten times bigger, lean and clean)- do I stand a chance of being relisted?

The sites PR is currently 1 (!) but used to be 4- was that because of the dmoz listing? ie. If I get relisted, am I guaranteed PR 4? (I can't check my PR because I use a Mac) :(

After initially getting into Google search results, would dropping out of dmoz have nosedived me in Google's results? (any more significantly than not updating).

Does it matter much if I get relisted or not, now that I'm already in Google and I've updated a lot?

Thanks in advance for answering some semi-stupid questions. May Google treat you well during the dance (you know- not step on your toes and offer to walk you home at the end of the night). ;)

Galaga, it depends on how many important links, importance measured in PR as given by Google, the site had. If the dmoz listing was the only link from a high PR page, than it's likely the site dived in Google.

Should you get a new dmoz listing you are not guaranteed same position or PR. Depends on the PR the dmoz pages passes to your site mostly.

I would however try to build links, not only from dmoz but everywhere. In case you would want to get some help or ideas on a link campaign, I recommend our Link development forum.

Suggestion: check and see if perhaps your site was moved to another ODP cat by searching the ODP. If not, you can try asking at resource zone about what happened to it. If it was deleted, only an ODP editor can find out why.

You imply that it was not "clean" before, and that was perhaps the reason it was dropped from DMOZ

The reason it was dropped will appear in the editor notes. You may therefore have problems getting an editor to look at a new submission, it may well be deleted as resubmitted spam, without anyone actually looking at the site in detail :(
