Okay, now I have a question and hope it can be answered by someone. I have submitted my site to dmoz a few times, I know it takes a while to get listed. I've submitted in different categories. I found out from someone in here (thanks again - forgot your handel) that I do have my site listed under REgional - California....etc. He gave me the link to where I could find it. And yup, sure enough it's there. It didn't show up in the last update and it's not showing up this update. (I really want dmoz backlink, and be listed in google directory). Also, when you go to dmoz and search for my company's name it says there isn't a listing, but there is! Can someone explain this to me, please? Thanks in advance.

Dmoz search database is out of date at the moment. Normally when a site gets added it will sow up in the serchable index within a few weeks or less. There is currently a tech problem. Do a search here for "RDF" or just scroll down through the directories threads and you'll find more info.

Bottom line. It is taking much lnger than usual to show up in the searchable Dmoz database and the Google directory. It will be this way till ODP gets their tech problems fixed. It will happen whenever it happens and there is nothing we can do to speed it up.

Given that Google's index is probably right now more up to date than ODP's, try searching ODP with google, eg:

"my company name" site:dmoz.org

I really want dmoz backlink

Check the PR of the *category* your site is listed in. They aren't all PR4+. If it's less than PR4, it won't show as a backlink.

Google doesn't count a PR2 link from dmoz.org any higher than any other PR2 link.
