small directories how to know if google indexes them

Just wondering why the links I have in smaller directories where my site is listed don't come up when I search links to my site from google? What's going on? Are these links in the small directories indexed by google?

As a general rule of thumb, the site listing your link must have a PageRank of 4 in order to display as a backlink to your site. Google does count pages with a PageRank under 4, but it doesn't display them in the results.

Search for your site in Google, and click on "contain the term" - there you will see where your site is listed but the links aren't displayed in your linkto's.
