By the way, the cateogry is service related. Any ideas? The submission was approximately ten days ago but I am unsure of the exact date because I deleted the two followup auto generated emails. Deleted becasuse I felt there was no interest on the part of DMOZ, however I did comply with their mail confirmation.
They will not pass judgement on your suitability, but you will be told if your submission is in the queue for processing, or has disappeared forever into cyberspace.
One gets the impression (perhaps wrongly ;) ) that a fair proportion of applications to become a DMOZ editor "disappear". Glitch in submission, lack of confirmation of their auto responses, or whatever.
As Hardwood_Guy says, DMOZ do not seem to give the impression to applicants that they are a real friendly place to join!
That impession is from the responses 'I cannot see your application in the queue' and 'there is no application waiting with that username'?
Both these would be because once an application has been rejected, no record of the application is kept OR because if the applicant has not responded to the automatic email confirmation.
Applicants *must* respond to the auto generated email confirmation letter before the application is forwarded to the application queue. If no response is received it is never reviewed.
:)
Done within minutes after submission. With all due respect to the folks at DMOZ this doesn't interest me anymore. Best Wishes for a happy new year.
...this doesn't interest me anymore.
Why did you bother posting about it in the first place, then? I'm genuinely curious, not trying to be troublesome. You seemed to be interested a day ago when you started this thread. And you were given the suggestion to go to Resource Zone where someone would have been able to tell you more about your specific application.
Motsa:
I have alot of things going and the way I look at it without being cynical or impulsive; We have to move on to better things if no interest is shown on the other side. It happens in my business with people all the time and frankly I get tired of it. What did Ted Turner say years ago. "Lead follow or get out of the way?"
