Hi, I am wondering if dmoz will accept this.. I have a site, rather large site www.abc.com that sells say electronic equipment which is listed in that category of dmoz... I have a section of the site www.abc.com/giftcertificates.com ... i would like to list this part of the site in dmoz under gift certificates.. will they list me in that section as well? Could this hurt to try and submit to this second category?

<edit> Actually it looks like their gift certificate section is only for worldwide merchants...ughh </edit>

Many dmoz categories have a description that informs you which sites will be listed and which not. Just click on the "Description" link in the category and you get, for example, to this page: [dmoz.org...]

A site which offers gift certificates, coupons, or promotions applicable only to itself is essentially selling a product, and ODP does not generally list product pages of online shopping or catalog sites.

An independent provider or clearinghouse for gift certificates for multiple online vendors or a variety of different physical retailers would merit a listing in the ODP, but McDonald's, Starbucks, The Gap, and abc.com are out of luck.
