The updates are not scheduled, as far as I know, so it's anyone's guess.

If you run a search in DMOZ and look at the bottom of the results page you will see:

Search database last updated on: Sat Sep 28 00:54:00 PDT 2002

Its not cast in stone how often they update, but in my experience they do not often leave it much longer than a month.

I probably should add that if you are just interested to see if your site has been added to DMOZ or not, you can go to the appropriate category and check if it has been added.

In other words, if your site is listed in the category, then your site is actually in DMOZ at that point, but not actually searchable for, until the next search update. Though it can be found by browsers looking in the category.

yes my sites are already listed, but as you said, there are no results when searching for it... so that's why i asked.

and do you know how long it takes to get listed in google after the sites have been listed in the categories of dmoz.org?

warmest regards, hermann

Well your site may not show up in a DMOZ search, or in the Google directory, but I have seen some updated DMOZ categories turn up in a google search (with a 9 Nov date), so the site is likely to be picked up in a spider of the directory.

Hi everyone.
Has anyone witnessed signs of life at the ODP?
I recieved a note from a kind editor last month, stating that the changes which I
had requested had been completed and that "would see changes soon". Several patient inquiries have gone unanswered.

I have yet to see the changes implemented. The waiting is as tough as everyone
says. In this instant world it is a challenge to sit and wait.

Does anyone have any thoughts since the last post of this thread?
If one knew that you were in a line-up or the db refresh took place on a
certain date, the waiting could be explained to clients. The whimsey of
the directories and search engines is giving the industry a bad rap.

Thanks all, Duhboy.

My site was added last week to DMOZ just in time for Google's deep crawl. It blew my mind - a DMOZ listing and a deep crawl in one week for a totally new site.
