I recently re-inherited our company's site and I immediately redesigned it, to include doing away with frames. I have sumbitted to SEs and to DMOZ, and now things are worse. I'm hoping this is normal and I can expect a change for the better soon. Right?

Welcome to the system Kimberly. If you changed all the urls, then it is normal. If you didn't change urls, then it should be investigated a bit further.

Thanks, Brett. My URL did not change. Only a few of the filenames changed. Most stayed the same. Where do I start this investigation?

Were the listings in the directories to actual files that are now 404?

Other than that, I can't think of why you would have been dropped. If the site topic is still the same and the listing was in the appropriate cat to begin with, then the listing should have stayed.

Thanks for helping. I'll try to contact the category editor.

Was the site down at any point while you were updating it?

DMOZ has a spider the flags 404s and other site down problems. It may have gone through on a day that you were shifting servers or down for maintenance... If so, you may have been removed. It shouldn't be a problem to get relisted though.

Email the editor, as you planned, then wait a few weeks. If you don't hear anything, move up to the next category and email that editor. Keep doing this until you reach someone that answers. (And remember to be patient...I know it's frustrating, but those folks are volunteers...)
