DOW JONES--March 02, 2004--Mamma mia! That may be what Mamma.com Inc. (MAMA) shareholders are hollering Tuesday, as shares of the Internet-search-engine company have doubled following the release of strong fourth-quarter results late Monday."There's been a lot of changes in the public company and I think the stock is moving because the market realizes that we're a pure-play in the search industry," Guy Faure, president and chief executive of Mamma.com, told Dow Jones.
Faure said the Montreal-based micro-cap was trading at a far lower valuation than its comparables, such as Google Inc. (GGL.XX), Ask Jeeves Inc. (ASKJ) and FindWhat.com. These companies trade at valuations ranging from 5-to-10 times revenues, he said.
