OK, I typed in "flu" in the new Superpages search and got no results in my city. BUT, I can add the keyword "flu" for my business for free.

From:
[superpages.com...]

Fill out our free profile to make your business easier to find for consumers that are ready to buy. A SuperPages.com Profile contains detailed searchable business information. By submitting your Profile information, you are making it easier for consumers that search by keywords to find your business. For example, if a consumer is looking for "Plato custom kitchen cabinets" and you have submitted that you sell Plato cabinets, your listing will appear.

Your free basic profile includes:
-Your contact information: business name, address, and phone numbers
-Your hours of operation, payment options and number of years in business
-A link to your Web site that gives buyers more decisive information

-A link to your email address that allows buyers to send email to you

-A link to maps and driving directions to lead consumers to your door

-Placement in the All Listings section of SuperPages.com

-Appearance in your choice of up to five categories

-Ability for loyal customers to store your listing in "My Directory" for
 future reference.

Eh? How are they going to make money with this?

OK, I see: Under "Business Profile" you can add all kinds of bells and whistles. For a fee. (I suppose these people know what they are doing--I think they're giving away a lot.)

And, it appears they are giving away free ads, then trying to sell position. Your listing is free, but to be in the top section, you have to pay--but you pay per click.

Whew! You folks in search optimization should be a hero with your clients with this.

The user interface on this is impressive. And I checked it with suburbs vs city and the results were outstanding in my areas.

There is a very good pdf (just print the second page) that is useful in explaining this to clients. I can think of several cool ways businesses could use this with print to market their business.

edited to add details
