How to ask for links...

... when you have an affiliate program?

How do you approach a webmaster for a link, when you have an affiliate program? I would love to have hundreds of text links to my site, I can list hundreds of sites that would link to me. However, I think the vast majority would rather sign up for the affiliate program. (not that that is a problem!).

Maybe i should take the time to figure out how to pull some PR from my affiliate links.

There are all sorts of sites that will trade links with you regardless of your affiliate program. Just watch out for what google calls "bad neighborhoods".

Roadrash...Ever thought of offering those who link to your site higher commissions if they both link to your site and join your affilite program? :)

perfect ....

for a link, a small text link anywhere on the page is fine, whereas for the revenue nice big graphics, banners etc etc can be used.

its down to them how they get a user to click either on a link or on the affiliate image etc :)

That is an AWESOME idea! I posted the details of my affiliate program here [webmasterworld.com]. Maybe I can offer 90% of listing fees and $.05 per bid standard, and 100% + $.06 per bid for thoes who have a text link.

That way i wont have to sneak in a 1x1 pixel link in my data feed *wink*
