I emailed a few webmasters who i was interested in linking their website to mine. Just got an email from one of them agreeing to a Reciprocal link.

My question is, he wants me to also link to 4 of his websites that sell wigets like my site. Out of the four websites the one i originally emailed to link to ranks high in search google (pr5) and the other 3 has either a white bar or pr0.

I don't know if this is a fair deal or not beacuse this is the first time i've emailed to exchaged links with other websites. Should i email him and suggest i only want to link to one of his sites or is that a NO, NO. What would you guys do and i would also like some advice on how to approach this.

I would sit on it for a while see how his sites develop. Thers little point turning it down for the sake of PR. Unless his sites are banned in which it may be detrimental to exchange links. But afaik white bar doesnt indicate a ban. His other sites may well just be new.

Also, if he is gonna link from his other sites to you aswell then there isnt a problem more links for you. It will help with the other SEs like ATW as well remember.

I have recently adopted the attitude that PR should have little to do with it. But take a look at his source to check for bad stuff. Thats my motto check the source.

how do you know if pr0 is a banned sight? or jusy not ranked.

For the time being tell him that you are interested in the PR 5 site. Also tell him that once the other sites gain a PR of 1 or more you would be interested in exchanging links with them.

Don't be afraid to speak your mind. If he is not willing there would be others. Also note that there are lots of changes going on at Googleplex. Were the sites PR 0 from beginning or in the recent update? And if possible communicate quickly. That helps IMHO. :)
