I'm going to lunch new site in a day or two, and this is my first time... I just want to ask you guys of how to start on building link strategies?
I think, I have to upload site, submit my pages and start writing to other webmasters asking for reciprocal links, right? But will they link back to me coz my site probably still don't have any page rank since it's just a new site.
Please give me some recon of how to get start...
They will look on your site and see if it's of high quality, if it has some original content. And if your content is related to theirs.
You can also ask for one way links. I launched a site three months ago, obviously with no pagerank. I've asked for links to me and I now have one Pr7 site and some pr6 & pr5 sites linking to me. And they're all one way links.
True, but unfortunately a little knowledge is dangerous. If a webmaster has even a glimpse of knowledge about PR they will judge your site on that and nothing else.
Ive seen a lot of posts on this forum that people say they wont link to a site less than PR<whatever>.
>There are still many uncommercial sites, that are not so fuzzy about links back. These can be university sites, directories, personal homepages etc.
Totally agreed - but you need to have good content for them to link to you! ;)

Just send something along the lines of:
"Hi would it be possible for you to add my site (www.mysite.com) to your site / links section / etc?
Our details are:
URL: www.mysite.com
Title: My Title
Description: My Description
Thanks.
Regards
<your name>"
Short a simple is all that's needed.
If they get back to you saying they can't link to you, then ask for a reason - and aim to try to resolve that issue.
If they ask for a reciprocal link, then give them one.

If your site is good enough, and not a hard sell, you have every chance. I have plenty of one way links coming in.
