Several sites link back to my with links that look like this: http:*//www.OTHERSITE.com/links.php3?op=visit&lid=1121

Will a link like this be of any value PR wise. Will Google even be able to find it?

From what I've seen, Google does not include/coung these.

One of our sites has plenty of links like that (from PR4 and higher pages) and they do not show in our backlinks.

In our case, those links do bring in quality traffic, so Google not counting these is no big deal.

So when I link back to them with a straight link it is counted as a one way link back to this site? If so, setting up a directory such as this would be a slick way to create the illusion all one way links back to ones site...

Its not a php issue. Any url with variables in it generated by cgi, asp, cfm, using those and even shtml or even html extensions has a reduced chance of being "counted". It all depends on how complex the urls are and the number of variables/id's in the string.

In this case it looks like they have their external links in a database and are counting the clicks "out". I always presumed these would count as a link back to the same site, and not towards the linked to site, if at all, but someone will know better than me im sure.

So it seems that I should avoid reciprical linking arrangements with those who use these techniques unless it is a site that will drive significant traffic.
