How do you do it in such a short space of time, considering that FFA's and all the other supposed short cuts are a no, no?
Thanks in anticipation ;)
Once you crack the magic link hunting scenario, it becomes very easy and they just keep coming.
the thing with links is that you should look at sites/directories where you would actually like to get traffic from, once you have that worked out, its very easy to approach all the directories in that field.
make sense, probably not:)
good luck
Shak
you just gotta work it!
i choose to be very selective in who i link to and reciprocate with, there are faster ways to make it happen, but i tend to err on the side of caution to start with.
do a search on threads posted by paynt regarding link strategies, inbound and outbound, you will find a lot of very useful info.

I don't know why noone ever gives a straight answer. Well here is the secret. Well, it isn't much of a secret, but it will help you get lots of good links.
First: Decide what is the keyword you are completing for. i.e. Widgets.
Second: Search on Google for "widgets"
Third: Look at the back links for the top 10 sites.
Fourth: Prepare a "requesting a links letter" or a text file with easy to cut and paste information about your site.
Example: Address, URL, title, description, keywords
Finally: Email all the sites back link to your competitor tell them about your wonderful resource.
This system works.
If you need more than this try searching on Google for "widgets + "add url""
I hope this shows you some magic.
something else that may help is do a search for your product with the word "directory" or "listing" in the search box (i.e. widget directory, list of widgets) may have to dig a bit, but may be rewarded with a list that isnt tapped into as much.
again, search for threads on link exchanging and strategies involving paynt, many words of wisdom there.
Only the big content sites like yahoo or news.com have "thousands" of links that they have got without making any special effort on linking.
Almost all the 3 page affiliate sites that have thousands of of links, they are clearly paid for links. They have bought links from content sites to boost their PR.
Most webmasters who purchase links do not like to talk about it but you can always check who the top sites in SERPs for most competitive keywords (in other words most spammed SERPs) are linking to.
