Hi, I have a website [snip url] I have a lot of pages that I created with relevent text on them with what I feel is good content. I have about 280 pages indexted in google if you do a search under all of the pages containing my url in google. However with the google toolbar I have no ranking and my pages are not searchable. I am indexed but when I type in a phrase from one of my pages which is showing as being indexed i don't come up at all and other sites do that don't even have the exact phrase. Is there any hope for my site or is it dead as far as ranking- Why is google passing my site by? if anyone can help I sure would apprecite it. By the way I first submitted to google Dec1st and was indexed early Jan. Thank You,
kelley

Hi kelleybelly and welcome to WebmasterWorld. ;)

A couples things are possible.

The phrase you are searching on is highly competitive, and difficult to rank on.

Even a exact phrase - the "exact" phrase does not need to be on the page. If the phrase is used in links (anchor text) from other sites this adds relevancy to these pages.

The best course is developing external links (reciprocal) to your site using the specific exact phrase you believe is appropriate to searchers.

Rod :)

The phrases are not competitibe at all, its as if I am in google but not searchable under anything other then url- but when i go to all pages containg my url it shows 282 pages from my site - none of which are seachable. Is it possible that google has penalized me for something?

hmmm... if the site is new (newly indexed) then this could be a temporary thing. Adding... if Refresh pick your site up you would periodically appear but will need to wait for the end month update.

You may want to try at least one deep search to see if you are not deep in the archive.

A good way to do this is set search preferences to 100, type in the phrase, select menu button "edit" and depress "Find on this page" and type your URL in the dialogue box that appears.

If not on first page go to page two & repeat.

Threre is a hot key for this as well but I don't remember.
