We brought this up several times in discussions, particularly in relation to deep linking. This has in some cases become a legal issue. Of course with any legal issue comes legal commentary. I found some great articles and information in the google directory [directory.google.com].

I havenít had a chance to read all the articles and references yet but I thought it a good little category to bring to the communities attention.

Personally I can't see what all the fuss is about. I would be happy for webmasters to link to any page of my site, especially when they are sending visitors who may otherwise never have visited my site in the first place.

They are entering the site for a specific reason, whether it be for news, information or products they can't get from the referring site. At the end of the day it's still a form of promotion.

It's my job to ensure that no matter what page of my site someone enters, there is enough on each page to keep them returning. Who know's next time they might even enter through the HOME PAGE :)

Thanks paynt some great info,
