Tagging for links

Onling social tagging for links.

Anyone utilizing tagging to build links on sites? If so is it worth the time and effort. Anyone know of a site with directory of all social bookmark sites. I want links. :)

Would you mind explaining what exactly you mean by “utilizing tagging to build links”. English in not my first language and I haven’t got a clue as to what your are talking about

I am reffering to social bookmark sites. Some of these have high page rank and not lot of users and your tags end up right on the home page for a month or two...

If I understand you correctly, it would be similar to signing guest books and blog’s, sort of. IMHO they have value, but that value is demising more and more.
Firstly the site you tag, often do not relate to the subject/them of your own site, mudding up the clarity of the them, of your own site.
Secondly these sites more and more often employ the rel = nofollow to avoid spam and irrelevant tags making your tags useless.

My advice would be to tag where it feels natural, where you have some relevant to say. Don’t tag just for the link

I believe social bookmarking will become stronger and stronger, since users will find links from other users interested in the same thing.

Google jumped on that waggon with its COOP initiave, many other social networking sites do it longer.
