hi all,

I am about to start a blog on a niche in the widget market. It this is a potential HUGE niche.

I can link to this blog from a couple of my own sites. That will provide some pr love. But i am thinking of doing the following link strategy. I suppose this is not new.

I will include in each blog article a link to someone (article relevant). I will simply email the revciever of this link love and tellŽem that I have writen an article on so and so and have talked about there site and included a link. If my content is relevant and of a high enough standard, I hope to attract (without asking for it) links to my site from these authority sites.

Anyone tried this out?
How did you do?
Where did you make mistakes?
Other pearls of widom that you wish to share?

I would find this to be rather intrusive. I would just make use of the trackback feature and write articles on other blog's entries. Works for me.

I've only tried using trackbacks and posting on other people's blogs. I kind of expect the email could be a double edged sword. You may attract good attention, or you may attract the bad kind of attention.
