Searching for Links before site is Live.

What are ways to get links before site is live.

Hi,

I have a site that is looking to go live in Mid January. I wanted to find out ways to start looking at potential ways to get links into are site. Or ways of finding potential link Candidates, before day one. So when we go live, we can really be ahead of the curve. Anyone have thoughts.

You must have content on the site prior to obtaining links. That's what you're planning, right?

Yes....

I have content and looking to add. Just looking for a good solid game plan for linking. Although my site is not up, I was trying to be prepared to hit the ground running. I am skiptical of the paid directories so looking for solid direction.
