Ok. I still need some clarification about anchor text. Does it matter what order the keywords are in?

For example...

If I want to optimize my site for the terms

Bodybuilding Supplements
Bodybuilding Supplement
Sports Supplements
Sports Supplement

Can my anchor text look like this:

Sports Bodybuilding Supplements

or does it have to look like this:

Sports Supplements ¦ Bodybuilding Supplements

Basically what I'm trying to figure out is if you only have to have all the words in the anchor text or do you have to have all the words and have them in the right order to optimize it the right way.

Also....If I want to get optimized for the plural versions of my keywords do I have to include both in my anchor text?

Example: Sports Supplements ¦ Bodybuilding Supplements ¦ Sports Supplement ¦ Bodybuilding Supplement

Please explain the right way to achieve the right anchor text.

Thanks

J.W.

Having the keywords in the exact order might be perceived as over-optimizing by search engines, and they might ignore you as a result. "Sports Bodybuilding Supplements" seems ideal to me... however hyperlinks should not be uniform - you should create as many variations as possible.

I ask myself one question. What is the user most likely to type into the search bar?

For you, its the potential buyer of your product.

Explain your product to a few friends. Ask them to search for it on some search engine.
Do NOT offer any clues, proper (trade) name of product etc.
just watch what they type in and and take notes. -Larry

Interesting....

Then compare this with overture :)

Remember that many searches are once off/unique.
