Do press releases generate links too fast?

Will google consider it unnatural?

Would any webmasters care to comment on the pros and cons of press releases?

Many users here are of the opinion that google penalises for sites that acquire links too fast - if a press release is particularly successful is that a possible risk?

Also which press release sites work best and is there a viable DIY approach?

I am not of that opinion. Use news releases for their intended purpose and you will be fine. IMHO

But then again I'm just a Fool on the road now :)

I wouldn't worry. You use a release to launch a company - so why would Google shop you for doing that...

If you're that worried, you should use an offline agency to promote you to offline press. The link exchanges will come, but the web world will take a bit longer to find you to link to you.
