Hi;

Which is better for your opinion :

- having hundreds of recioprocal links in your link partners pr0 to pr4 link pages.

or

- Making main page link exchange with 20-30 quality websites with high pr(5 and more)?

Thanks

I'd rather have hundreds of links than a few well placed ones. I see each link as a route to my site, which is what links are for.

In terms of pagerank, I'd have say 50 PR 6 over 50 PR 3,sort of thing. But me don't really trust the foolbar anymore, so hundreds of links please.

also the advantage with having more linking partners means you can vary the anchors used - so I would go for more links as well

About the link anchor text usage for example if you have a websites about sports and a page about english soccer which is better :

- using the reciprocal link with anchor text "english soccer" pointing your index page

or

- using it for your pages about english soccer

I would take both.

>>>english soccer

Depends on the other anchors pointing to the sub page (and on page factors) and main page and which page you want to rank for it.

I would have to agree with Tigger here. The more links, the varying degree of anchor text you can use.

Ill take the hundreds of links.

It depends on what you are looking for. For new sites and smaller sites that are not placing well in SEs, I'd always go for more links. For established sites that have good rankings, I'd go for the main page links. These will offer potential traffic in addition to the search engine benefits. There is not an exact approach that you can follow with every site.

Hello,
I just started adding relevant links to a seperate links page. The new site is small for now - about 50 pages. What is the maximum number of (relevant) links I should be looking for without over doing it?

Thanks

Overdoing it? Well, what are you trying to be?

Directory, Resource Portal, Guide or Help site?

The amount of links depends on what you're offering those visitors. Technically you could just go on forever wacking up pages and filling them with content.

Ask yourself some basic questions like:

How big a resource do you want to be?

Does this content need anything other than text?

How will the site 'serve' people?

If this is only a recip link directory, meant to house link exchange links, then I'd suggest no more than 25 links per page. Any more and you risk people thinking how on earth will their link be found amongst the rest.

That's very off putting for many looking for 'exclusivity'. But whatever you end up doing just ensure that this resource is unique in some way, or you'll be no different to anything else on the web.

Hope this helps a bit.

Neither, but rather having relevant links. That is links to your page from within pages with real content relevant to the content on the linked to page.
