If what you require is a list of backlinks to a domain, an accurate source does not exist.
I tend to use Yahoo! which provides a pretty good, although not exhaustive, guide to inbound links with the following search:-
linkdomain:www.example.com -site:www.example.com

As TJ says, Yahoo! is a decent source; some people also check AltaVista. As for Google, the results it returns are only a fraction of the links G "knows about" --and that function is "broken" on purpose...
