My PageRank Dropped...Why?

Dropped from 4 to 3...

I'm kind of bummed out. Just noticed my page rank dropped to 3, when it used to be 4.

I went on a link exchange campaign a couple weeks ago, exchanging links with sites here and there, submitting to directory sites, and posting in forums that said to "Promote your Site".

Do you think this has something to do with it? I was too aggressive in my marketing campaign.

Man, all that work and I've dropped. It's really quite depressing.

To be honest I wouldent read to much into it. All you see in the toolbar is a snap shot of what PR was about two-three months ago. I know it's depressing but it's what happens on the serps that matters.

If you done a lot of link nunting recently then it should pay off for you next time round.

Don't stress over pagerank. It's not worth a single thought.

Thanks, that's a little reassuring to know it doesn't matter so much and that it might not be from my link exchange campaign.

I did notice however that right after seeing my pagerank drop, I checked to see if I was still listed as #1 in Google and now it shows me as #17 in the results.

To add insult to injury, the sites above mine are really cheesy sites with broken image links, etc. that don't really provide any useful content.

Oh well, whatcha gonna do, right? :/
