Is this a legitimate link that will transfer PR?

<A href="http://theirsite.com/global/siteframe.asp?returnurl=links.htm&mainurl=http://www.mysite.com">Keyword</A>

If that passes one whisper of PR, its no thanks to 'theirsite'
and all thanks to the search engines that see thru those methods.

Yeah I know. They are just counting outgoing traffic. -Larry

There are many many variants on the masked-link theme.
At least this one mentions your URL by name, so maybe it will pass PR after all?

There's one thing all these schemes omit: <a href=www .. etc. </a> -Larry

I use redirects in all my diretories, purely for click tracking as but one component of the ranking within the particular directory. I too was concerned whether the SEs would pick up the reference and credit the backlink, so I did some research using both my logs and those of recipient sites to which I was able to gain access. I also checked backlinks in the relevant SEs a while later to double check.

This research showed me that any SE worth its salt does follow redirects and does credit backlinks where appropriate.

Hi Woz:

I'm very glad to hear that, I was hoping it was true. -Larry
