Hi,

For increasing the one way links count, which method is better :-

Option 1) Grow the size of your own website and use the internal link mechanism
OR
Option 2) Get one way links from other websites without any reciprocal link exchange mechanism.

Getting one-way links from other web sites would be preferred.

I don't know. Obviously you need some incoming links, but my understanding is that links within your own site count pretty much the same as links from another site...

They do on MSN but not really on Yahoo or Google. (Retested this 2 weeks ago).

Lots of free link sites out there that you can try and they work well with MSN and less so with Yahoo, and even less so with Google. Or so it seems as a lot of the free ones are on the same server or otherwise have a similar footprint. And therfore there links are thought to be discounted in Google.

So no matter what OddDog says, it does take a lot of work :-)
No don't attack me OddDog, sit I say, sit. Aaaagggh...

One way IBL's are always best, but internal links are also great as long as the additional pages are built for quality content not quantity internal links.

When I started out, I had very few internal links, fearing it looked spammy.
Then I checked other sites doing well in my niche, and saw they had loads of internal links.

Now I try for a happy medium. I have about 140 pages on my site.
a) Only my site-map points to EVERY page.
b) All pages point to the home entry (index) page.
c) All pages point to my 2nd level menu pages. There are 4 of those.
d) 3rd level content pages link to 5 or 10 of the most closely related / similar pages only.

In all of this, the visitor experience is the key.
It suggests the most natural internal linking structure almost automatically.

One way incoming links appeared naturally as a result, over time. -Larry
