just getting started in paid links

Can you give me the low down on the best paid link brokers?

I have an internet marketing budget and want to try a few quality, relevant links.

We have 435 links currently according to Google, but most aren't relevant and almost none have keyword-rich text links. Can the paid links really help us rank better on the search engines?

I did some research awhile back and would just recommend you be very careful about who you buy text links from. Make sure you are getting quality links from relevant sites. If they don't tell you what the site is, e-mail them and ask.
