Hi,

So after reading many diffrent methods of getting ranked higher / PR etc, it seems I need to start building me links to other website.

I have a couple of questions.

On my home page there is a place where I can add links, is it recomended to have loads of links to other sites on your home page? If so what is the Max you would go with?

Is it recomended to make a directory page to store links?

Thanks

I wouldn't put "loads" of links on your homepage.

If you have some other webmasters that have good rankings, are on topic and/or have good pagerank that wish to also trade homepage or content page links, it might then be worth adding a few (5-10).

Other than that I would recommend creating a themed link directory in which you list no more than 25 links per page. The theming and the cap on quantity will make these links more attractive to those who you wish to trade links with. Or, in the case you simply want to link to people with nothing in return, at least this organizes them and offers those you link to more benefits.

I'd read a bit in this forum before you go and do anything drastic on the linking front.

Thanks for replying,

A directory related to my site is probably the way I'm going to go.
I have been reading this forum and many other but I think that because I read so many different posts and replies my head was going in circles and in the end wasn't sure what was the best step to take.
