Thank you in advance for your help!
Also, check all the sites that rank above you simply to see if some of them will link to you. You can generally find a site or two in the first five pages of the search term you're looking to rank for, that will link to you (thus giving you a one way inbound and ontopic link).
I also find this to be a good way. Just yesterday I located some places, on target, to submit my link at no charge (one-way) and even a good on-target site that was like $5 a month for a home page link (PR 5, back links, etc). Not a bottom of the page either, above the fold :D
I used to spend all my time looking for ways around the search and surf only to find myself with nothing solid and weeks gone by. I got more results yesterday alone by doing the ol S & S. :D
- free directories/search engines
- request links from complimentary websites. If you have a good site, some of them will link to you.
- purchase links from quality, relevant sites (if you have the budget)
- text link brokers (can be somewhat risky if you don't use a good one. Again, this requires the budget to do so)
- find forums that allow site promotion
Reciprocal linking is easier because you are giving something in return. If your site is good enough, other sites will agree to link to you.
