I know google says not to have more than 100 links on a page. Does that count for both external and internal links? I gave a site that is basically instructions "ex. Petting your widget, Feeding your widget, Walking your widget." It's in a big list and I don't want to divide it up if I don't have to. All of these links like to page son my site. Will google still penalize me for this?

Have I finally found a question nobody can answer?

No. It's just been answered many times before. You may find this in the Google or Linking forums (and you may also want to search WebmasterWorld for this and also page size topics).

This thread [webmasterworld.com...] is also kind of relevant I think.

Donot Put more than 100 links on a page, neither Google Likes it nor customer, I will prefer link categories as a customer.
