I am aware that my search engine placement is favoured by having lots of sites link to my site.

But what is the case when I have thousands of affiliate that promote my site, but their links points to clickbank (my payment processor/affiliate manager) who write a tracking cookie and redirect the user to my site.
Does that count as a link to my site from the affiliate? Or, is the likes of Google counting that as only one site (clickbank)linking to my site?

I checked their hoplinkFAQ which sais:

Can Google and other search engines properly index my site if other sites link to my site via hoplinks?

Yes. Search engine robots have no trouble traversing hoplinks.

Nice answer but does the link traversal count in Search engine positioning?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No. The tracking redirects in the middle act as a big brick wall.

That is what I suspected.:(

Does anyone have any ideas or tips as to how I can overcome this. Surely there are many others out there with the same issue?
