Link building taking its toll?

How long have you been doing link exchanges?

Just for everybody's info, this is not an informative thread. I was just curious to know how long most of you WW members out there, have been working on your websites link development, or how long it took you to get to where you wanted to?

I have been going at it hard for almost 5 months now and I do not have another 5 to get my targets done. I do not know of any good link exchange software or programs and am reluctant to invest time into researching for one. I need some serious help on how I can streamline, and give a significant boost to my link building, especially since I'm juggling about 6 different sites, and doing it all manually.
I am doing directories and sending out tones of emails, and I have quality sites with good PR to offer, so that is not an issue.

Anybody care to shed some light or some thoughts on this...?

Concentrate more time on getting one-way quality links, and don't waste so much time on reciprocals.

Reciprocals should still be part to the strategy, but don't concentrate on those only.

Getting links to a site is an ongoing process, I don't think it will ever stop. The day you stop, your competition will get right past you.
