Buying back links

Am considering buying a high pr back link to help boost the pr value of my site and boost link pop. However, I have no experience of doing this and would like to hear it from the horses mouth that it is beneficial and worth the money.

If it is worthwhile and can help raise rankings could someone let me know the ins and outs of doing this properly. I know you can buy links from high pr sites and your links will appear on all their pages. Some of these sites have over a 1000 pages. Some will only put your link on a few of their pages. Will Google calculate each link on a page within their site as an individual backlink? So if you have the same link text appear on a 1000 internal pages would you then get 1000 back links showing up in Google (providing those pages were in their index?)

Also can you tell if a page is still passing page rank, if so how?

And can anyone recommend any software that will help you look for high pr sites and help you to measure how many of your competitor sites have the keyword in the anchor text of their external links, as from what I have read doing this is v impt.

No - you will not see all links show in Google. Google will see all the links coming from the same domain, and will count only some of them. Run of site links, aren't what they used to be.

Look for a page that the site is linking to. Does it show up in the backlinks? If so, this is a good indication that the site is passing love.

I would pass on the run of site link buy, and try to get separate links from different sites, with varied anchor text.

The backlinks will most likely show up in google using link:domain.com ,BUT..... the links will not count as 1000 thinks, they will be discounted as its from a single site. As said , rather get 1000 links from 1000 sites.

Look at the outbound links on the site, go to each site and that has been linked to and see if they have benefited from the links. You might see a site with a single link from the site at question with a decent pagerank (its passing) or no Pagerank (not passing ,but take it also depends on time of update).
