I like to keep track of the evil green bar, since so many I deal with attribute value to it.

I have a PR5 link that looks like this:

<a href="http://www.widget.org/cgi-bin/axs/ax.pl?http://wwWebmasterWorldidget.com">mywidget.com</a>

Does this do any good?

Might not. Check the backlinks of others in there and see if the site doing that shows up.

Some people do that innocently, to count their outgoing links. I've convinced a few webmasters to knock it off in exchange for a link.

I have seen many redirect links show in backlinks, which leads me to believe that they do pass pr.

However, it may cost you some links if you decide to go that route, because alot of webmasters will balk.

Thanks guys,

Actually it's for a site that is offering me a link.

For my own site I use both types of links. Those that give me a plain html link get the favor returned and those that put my link in the above manner get the same back :P

Was curious if these types are worth the effort, will check backlinks... thanks for the suggestion!
