I understand pr7 sites or higher update everyweek on google correct? Now lets say the pr7 site links to another site and this site gets pr6 and pr6 site links yet to another which gets a pr5. Can I assume that all of these sites will get indexed weekly since it follows the link from the pr7 or only the pr7 site with be indexed weekly?

I would say that you are on the right track of a spider leading from one site to the other. My only comments are that I've seen PR7's that get spidered almost daily while others are a bit less. I guess it all depends on what topic you are in, along with what backlinks you have.

So you are saying there is no guarantee that the pages or sites linked from the pr7 site will get indexed quickly?

They should. maybe a day or a few days.

How many other links are on the pr7?

My hobbie site (a few pages) is just a PR3, however it gets visited by google every day and I can see a fresh copy of my pages in the index every 2-3 days.

I think also that is just a matter of the topic, of course PR linking to you at the begining is very helpful, but once you are in, the topic should be one of the most important variables in the algo.

Well thats very interesting with only a pr3 you are geting indexed quickly. So why is everyone concerned about the update? Would you consider your site unique with keyword anchoring structure from other sites.

So sounds like you dont need a pr7 site to get updated in the index quickly. Will a pr5 site do?

Look at it from Googles perspective: Why would Google want to visit your site/page every day?

The answer: Because there is something new and interesting there every day.

Your job is to make sure that something interesting happens on your page every day. Something that deserves to get into the index every day.

Not at all .. this site is very specific for a game league .. I have not done link development ever and the structure of the site is not SEO at all :-) .. URLs with multiple variables (more than 2, 3) and I can find some of those pages already indexed also.. A search in GG by the main keyword gives me back about 270K results .. I'm not first page in those result either .. as so far I know only for a 2 keyword combiantion I'm getting first page .. at least searching here from US.. people have told me that I'm on first page for the main keyword searching from other countries.. something that I have not verified either.

Can I expect one pr6 site to pass on a pr5 rank to me assuming it is the only link pointing to me?

>>>Can I expect one pr6 site...

Well, depends on how many other links are on that same page as your link.

On the other hand, there is external PR (the PR that is shown on your toolbar) and then there is the real PR which is only known within the Googleplex.

Don't expect a PR 5 to do much for you if it only comes from one or two sites. Find quantity. More is more.
