I have heard that Google only counts it as one link and when paying for these types of advertising obviously the more links they put to my site the more money they want.
MY opinion is this.... when having a site that has a lot of pages it is wise to have these links go to the page you are trying to promote along with the main page.
I sell "widgets" for a living and lets say the term "widgets" is searched for. The page I want the customer to go to is my "widgets" page so I would think a link to that page would count for it but I also want to raise the page rank of my homepage because with doing this all the pages inside the site raise to some extent as well.
If anyone knows if Google only counts one link from a site for a credit rating or has any oppinions I would appreciate them.

[edit reason] Widgetized for your protection. ;) [/edit]
Page Rank can then flow into the rest of your site from there, and do whatever it's going to do. Give some thought to your internal link structures to make sure PR can flow freely, and watch for ways to help it flow where it will do the most good.
If you sometimes get outside links pointing to internal pages instead of always to the home page, that can make it harder for competitors to figure out what you're doing, which is a good thing. PR will enter your site either way.
How do you figure that? whatever page I have with a high pr i also want to have present keyword or words. My competitor will search the keyword(s) and find the page. It wont make a difference how long or complicate the url is.
