Hi

Just wondering if we have link from many website but all of them use the same block of class C IP (eg: x.x.x.1, x.x.x.2, x.x.x.3, etc), will it be beneficial for us to have all those links? Because I read somewhere, that search engine will put a flag if they found this, since it doesn't look like a natural link. Please help.

Thanks,
a.g

If you have a block of C-class IPs pointing to a site, either on a separate block or on the same, it is certainly something that the engine can detect. Consider that. They CAN look at the IP of the link, so would it make sense for the engine to do something about it? In my experience, yes.

Generally speaking, make sure that you have a good established linking structure before you attempt such things. If all of your external links come from one IP bank, you are essentially casting a group of votes for yourself. That doesn't work in real like - why would it in this situation? =)

I'd agree with Ryan. There's a good chance a ton of links from the same C class like that is going to raisse a red flag and hurt you more than it would help you.
