Does text in drop down menus rate eqally with regular text links?

I was wondering if text in drop down menus rates equally eqally with regular text links on a page in terms of pointing search engines in the direction or certain keywords? It would be a lot easier to fit drop down menus on my pages and replace the text links, but would that lead to diminished SERPs?

It depends on the way you will develop the menu. If it's NOT javascript then all the text links will be treated equally to the text links you already have. If you use a javascript menu then the search engines will probably not crawl the text links in it.
