have recently received this amusing link exchange request - obviously from a script that creates link pages.

the request itself was the normal kind of thing but the links page was headed by the following link ...

title: couldn't find server
desc: blank

the link actually resolved to a site, but obviously the page couldn't be found when the site was scraped.

this just completely puts me off, i should think that if you are playing that game a few extra lines of code could take account for such errors and possibly increase your success rate (although i accept most people wouldn't have noticed)

I received one request where the subject of the email was "INSERT YOUR SUBJECT TITLE HERE". On the email body, there was "PUT THE TITLE OF THE WEBSITE HERE". That gave me a chuckle.

I sent it back to the person who made the request and asked him for the missing entries. Automated these programs may be, but the basic principle remains: garbage in, garbage out.
