For people who do reciprocal link swaps, im interested in finding out how and when you do it.

Do you add your links once a week - if so , when?

Or, do you add them immediately as and when you get the requests?

If you work part time in SEO are you more likely to add the links at the weekend?

If you work full time in SEO, are you more likely to add them on a monday, tuesday....etc?

Im asking this slightly strage question becuase im trying to investigate the best time to send out reciprocal link requests, so id be interested in hearing what you guys think and do?

(And please, no replies along the lines of "build quality content, dont swap links, etc")

I tend to add the links as the requests come in

I usually start trying to obtain them a week or two after launch (they are not my initial link building efforts, takes me til then to get around to them). I don't have a set schedule. Link hunting seems to require a state of mind for me, so whenever I am in the mood, I work on them LOL. After that, I wait for them to come in, but sometimes only get to them (the ones I keep) once a month.

I don't really think there is a best day of the week when webmasters are "more inclined" to read a request or do a link exchange. I think it would be better to make sure link requests are thought out, well targeted and personal rather than what day of the week to send them out.

I add them as soon as possible and reply as soon as possible to build a good relationship, this way I find that they will offer more on topic reciprocal links they have if they have them. I aggree with chrisnrae with hunting links it can be very daunting and time consuming.

Although many times When I ask for a reciprocal link webmasters dont reply but on checking there site 2 to 3 weeks later I find my link is there, which I think is bad practice.

For me, it depends upon perceived link value, requests volume, and my available time & schedule.

Normally, if the link is at PR4, higher or I view as good link, I give it immediate attention and add within that day or the next working day.

The rest would be queued for addition if accepted on weekly or bi-weekly basis.

In this way, I can save a lot of my time and energy and yet work a bit more efficiently.
