How much time for Backlinks to apprear in SEs?

I am a novice. About two months ago I started my first link campaign. Using Arelis I can confirm inbound links with my site's URL on 120 unrelated partners' sites. However, when I use Arelis to find links to my site in the SEs, only 40 are found. Is this lag the norm? Any one have statistics on my question?

If they are unrelated links they may not show up. It depends on how fast they are indexed and than when the search engines update the index. Also if you are using Google to check for backlinks I wouldn't count on it to much.

Just a tip - Get only related links partners.

Girish, if Arelis confirms your links to be 120 via its link check, it is likely to be correct. However, if you run Arelis to find links to your site in SE, it depends upon which SE you have selected. You will often get different number for different SE and you should not expect it to be exactly the same. What you have to keep in mind is the characteristics of that SE in reporting backlinks - eg. Google does not report all backlinks. In addition, time lag when the links are crawled and reported should also be considered.

In many occasions, small changes in serp could appear to be continuous, but the major index update is still about once a month.
